OFFICE ASSISTANT
Class II, Step 1 - $10.85/hour
10-20 hours to be arranged per week

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Provide office support for the maintenance and facilities division
• Perform general clerical duties, which include, but are not limited to, typing, file maintenance, and word processing
• Prepare correspondence to vendors, suppliers, contractors, and others
• Assist in maintaining inventory of facilities, safety devices and equipment; update listing as required
• Maintain records related to maintenance, repairs and costs
• Process invoices and reconcile accounts
• Process purchase orders, check requests, pay requests, pay vouchers and petty cash
• Act as a liaison between departments within the Student Center
• Perform other duties as assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience utilizing Microsoft Word and Excel required
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Detail oriented and good organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize and work independently
• Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships with students, faculty, staff, and Student Center Governing Board members
• Must be enrolled at SFSU with a minimum of 6 units a semester
• One year office experience preferred
